Searching for Accounts and Contacts
To search for accounts and contacts within the system, access the accounts or contacts window by clicking the Accounts - All button on the Global Navigation Bar.
The Accounts - All feature will search the entire customer relationship management database in Ungerboeck, including members, sponsors, staff, suppliers etc., search results may vary depending on a user's access privileges.
Account and contact searched MUST be performed in Accounts - All before a new account or contact is created, this is particularly important for supplier and membership accounts.
The Search For field in Ungerboeck allows a variety of information to be entered pertaining to the record including the name, code, etc. This search is ideal when trying to locate a single account or contact. The help icon next to the Search For label will provide a full list of search fields for an easy reminder.
The other available fields available in the basic search are Class that allows you to filter for either accounts (organisations) or contacts (individuals), and Account Code which is useful if you are searching for a member by their member number.
Important Notes:
• Recommended view for searching for accounts or contacts is Accounts All - Search.
• Member Number = Account Code
• Entering data in the Account Code field will override any other search setting which allows for faster searching as you do not have to change your view or search parameters.
The Advanced Search offers the ability to search additional fields, such as City, State, Country, Email, and Mobile which is ideal when searching for a specific range of data.
Another commonly used field in the Advanced Search section is the Tags field, tags are used to mark account or contact records with information and is used extensively to track who has been invited to MRC hosted events such as Carnival Launch, VIP Events, or Committee Room Luncheons.
Once the Search has been executed, the records for the search criteria will populate in the grid. If a particular record has been selected, the screen will split displaying specific details pertaining to the record selected.
The criteria selected in the basic and advanced search fields be displayed next to the view name.
To reset the search criteria back to the original view settings (if changed), press Reset, or to clear all filters, simply click the Clear button in the top right corner below the search button and search again.
