Responsibility Distribution
This functionality is not used at the MRC, however, will look to use it in the future. It is accessed via Departments - AA.
This feature is not popular and hardly used by any of our customers, therefore, there isn't much information available about this function, however, I still managed to get some information regarding this functionality which might be helpful for you to understand this functionality.
The Department Responsibility Distribution window allows users to define a responsible department based on spaces and/or resource types and codes. When an item of the selected department is ordered, the work order process will use the responsibility distribution to assign the proper department. This allows users to use the same resource instead of creating multiple resources if the responsible department is dependant on function space, etc . . .
Example: There are three departments defined in the Departments window - Catering, Catering - North Buildings, and Catering - South Buildings. Under the Catering department, there are two lines in the responsibility distribution. The first line indicates that for space level North Building, the responsible department is Catering - North Buildings. A second line is set up in the same manner for south buildings. On the Resource Master, all catering resources have a department of Catering.
On an event, there are three functions. One does not have a function space, another has a function space in a north building, and the third has a function space in a south building. A service order, with a catering item, is added to each function. The work order process uses the function space to assign the first item to the Catering department, the second item to the Catering - North Buildings department, and the third to the Catering - South Buildings department.
