To change your default printer type “Printers and Scanners” in taskbar search, from here you can select the printer that you would like to use, select manage and then select “Set as Default Printer”. If the option is not present, deselect "Allow Windows to manage my default printer" from the previous page.
To change what print settings you would like as a default navigate to your print option (in this example I’m using word). Select print then page setup, from here you can change any applicable printing properties and select set as default in the bottom left.
