What's new in teams!
To see the latest updates in teams you can view this Microsoft page as they will post any updates here. I've summarised some of the key updates that will be most useful below.
Pin a channel to the top
Pin channels that are important to you or that you want to access quickly. Pinning a channel moves it to the top of your channel list. You can also reorder your pinned channels to prioritize them. This only changes your view and won't change views for the rest of your team.
Try it out for yourself: go to the channel of your choice, select More options > Pin. Or right click the channel name and select Pin.
This will appear at the top for both Mobile and Desktop versions of Teams!
Channel choices: Standard or private!
Private channels allow you to create a space that only you and select members that you add to a channel to view the files / conversations that are conducted within the channel. Other members of the team who are not added to the channel will not be able to see the existence of the channel.
One message, many channels
Have something you want to share in multiple channels? Now you can! To try it out, go to a channel, select Format under the box where you type your message. At the top of the box that opens, choose a message type: New conversation or Announcement. Then, select Post in multiple channels. From there, add all the channels you want to post in, type your message, and send away.
Set the priority of your message
Need to get someone's attention? Mark your message as Important. This will place a red exclamation point in the message and in the activity feed.
Is it really important? Set it as Urgent. This will alert the recipient every two minutes for twenty minutes, or until they read the message, whichever comes first. To change the priority, select ! under your compose box.
